FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov said that the organization plans to build 150 chess hotels and centres all over the world in the form of chess pieces. Three Russian towns are lucky: Samara, Ekaterinburg and Khanty-Mansiysk. (In Russian).

Round 9 results: M.Carlsen – T.Radjabov 1-0, Bu Xiangzhi – L.van Wely 0-1, B.Avrukh – A.Grischuk 0-1, J.Polgar – Y.Pelletier 1/2, A.Motylev – A.Onischuk 1/2. Final standings: 1-2. Carlsen, Onischuk 5.5/9; 3-6. Pelletier, Polgar, Grischuk, Radjabov 5; 7-10. Bu Xiangzhi, van Wely Motylev, Avrukh 3.5. Onischuk and Carlsen determined a winner of the tournament on tie-break: two rapid and two blitz games were drawn and then Carlsen (Black) won the decisive game 5/4 min.
