GAME IVANCHUK - MOROZEVICH BECOMES THE LAUREATE OF MARCH
The scanty March take was examined by Evgeniy Najer, Alexey Kuzmin, Sergey Zagrebelny, Andrei Deviatkin, Sergey Soloviov, Vladimir Barskij and Mikhail Golubev.
The laureate of the month became the game Ivanchuk – Morozevich that had been already commented on our site by Alexey Kuzmin. He gave it the first place, as did both Barskij and Deviatkin.
The runner-up, trailing just behind the winner, was another Linares game Anand – Carlsen (first place from Golubev, two second places and one third).
Zagrebelny and Najer both gave the highest praise to the game Epishin – Movsisian that also got two third places and became third in overall standings.
The game Ponomariov – I.Sokolov finished fourth (three second places and one third).
Then follows Gashimov's win against Lalic with one second place.
Anand's win against Ivanchuk that had been given the first place by Soloviov and also got one second place was not supported by majority of the experts and remained sixth.
Among the first three there were also observed the games Rublevsky –Zhang Pengxiang (twice) and Kramnik – Ivanchuk (once).
My apologies for the laconic brevity of this report. I hope that the review, in which four games are commented on, will be some kind of consolation and the creative successes of the April European championship will help you to forget the bad March harvest quickly.
See you soon!
