Economist, Keystone, Baden-Baden, Clichy, Alkaloid and Bosna scored 8 match points. Women: Monte-Carlo 9(16), Southern Ural 8(13.5), FINEC 8(13). AVS, Podgorica and Interplast scored 7 MP. Today FINEC St. Petersburg beat MIKA Yerevan 2.5-1.5 (V.Cmilyte won) and will play against AVS Krasnoturinsk tomorrow.

Three match wins have Ural, Tomsk-400, Keystone Kyiv and Alkaloid of Makedonia (tomorrow will play Tomsk – Ural, Keystone – Alkaloid). Women section: AVS Krasnoturinsk lost 1-3 to Interplast Tbilisi. The Georgian team lead together with Southern Ural and Monte-Carlo (6 match points). FINEC St. Petersburg defeated Volksbank Halle 4-0 and scored 4 MP.

Round 2: stronger teams continued winning. Baden-Baden and Ural had easy wins (5.5 and 6 points), Tomsk-400 beat Saratov 4.5-1.5 (E.Alekseeev – D.Jakovenko drew on board 1). Bosna Sarajevo with Vassily Ivanchuk also has two wins. In the women section many matches ended 3-1. AVS beat Ladya, FINEC lost to Southern Ural, teams of Monte-Carlo (with Humpy Koneru), Tbililsi and Yerevan also won today.

Team lists never contained so few players of St. Petersburg. P.Svidler plays for Baden-Baden, E.Alekseev for Saratov, V.Popov and S.Ivanov for Swedish ‘Sollentuna’, E.Korbut and I.Sudakova for FINEC women team of St. Petersburg.
