The article of the professor of the St.Petersburg State University Valery Nevzorov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Science, deals with ratings of chess players. As the Elo-system ignores the colour of pieces and, to some extent, a possibility of a drawn result, the author proposes within the limits of existing principles of chess players ranging to make certain changes, directed to more exact and fair calculation of the expected results of chess players.
