06.10.2005 PARISIANS WON!

The tournament was played in blitz format by children under 12. Every team consisted of one girl and one boy. The Parisian team was introduced by the ACP President J.Lautier, Moscow Petrosian’s chess club was leaded by GM L.Belavenets. Petersburg teams consisted mainly of the Kirovsky chess centre pupils (master G.Neizberg) in two different places – one pair in «Manezh» on Isaakievskaya square, other one – on Lomonovskaya Street. All four teams played simultaneously. For example, in the first round Paris played with one Petersburg team, and Moscow – with another one. The team members played with each other with White and Black. It is interesting that all four matches of Parisians with two Petersburg teams and the matches of the compatriots ended in a draw. The results of the games with Moscow team turned out to be decisive. French players had more luck. This team consisted of J.Moussard (10-year-old boy, who won all the games and made a good impression) and S.Aflalo, a young chess player with rather aggressive style. Petersburg teams got second and third places. In our teams girls distinguished themselves: D.Bazhenova and V.Sokolova. They both got 5 points out of 6; every of them has lost one point in the game with another one. Unfortunately, boys fell short of the occasion. The Moscow team consisted of children, who were not used to playing blitz, and this caused the result. We give all the tournament tables. The games were experimentally broadcasted on-line on the site.
