Junior Russian Championships finished today in “Karelia” hotel. Ivan Popov of Moscow took first place scori8ng 7.5 points out of 11. Nikita Vitiugov of Saint Petersburg has left half a point behind. Igor Lysyj of Nizhnij Tagil took third place outstripping Evgeny Romanov of Kaliningrad on tie-breaks (they both scored 6.5). A.Lanin finished on 5.5. In the girls’ tournament three players scored the same number of points – 7.5 out of 11. Vera Nebolsina of Moscow was proclaimed the champion. Valentina Gunina (Murmansk) took second place, Tatevik Airapetian of Lipetsk region who was leading up to the final round gas left third. A.Shlakich of Petersburg performed poorly scoring 2 points.
