Round 1 of the European Team Championships will start tomorrow at 15:30 in Heraklion, Crete island, Greece. 40 men and 30 women teams (4 players + 1 substitute) will struggle for the titles. A category 20 round robin supertournament will be held in Moscow on November 9th to 19th. World Blitz Championship finale will take place on November 21-22, a double round robin with 18 players (10 Tal Memorial participants, personally invited Vishy Anand and Anatoly Karpov, plus 6 qualifiers from the preliminary tournament for chessplayers 2625+, November 19-20). Finally, November 23rd will see an advanced chess exhibition 2-game match V.Kramnik – V.Anand with 30 min time control.
