WORLD CHESS OLYMPIAD
Started yesterday in Turin, Italy. Russian Men's team (Grischuk, Morozevich, Bareev and Rublevsky) swept Kazakhstan 4-0, and Russian Women's team (Kosteniuk and Kosintseva sisters) beaten Portugal 3-0. Today our men meet Latvia, and women play against Kazakhstan. 35 out of 149 men's team and 42 out of 108 women's team started the Olympiad with perfect score.

TOPALOV WINS AGAIN
4 wins in a row allowed Veselin Topalov winning the MTel Masters tournament in Sofia for the second time. He scored 6.5 put of 10. Gata Kamsky drew with Peter Svidler in the last round, and finished second with 6 points. Vishy Anand failed to convert a two-pawn advantage over Ruslan Ponomariov, and took the third with 5.5 points. Svilder has 5, Bacrot and Ponomariov have both 3.5.

ATTENTION: LAST ROUND IN SOFIA STARTS 1 HOUR EARLIER
The last round of the MTel Masters tournament starts today. Konstantin SAKAEV will follow two key games: TOPALOV-BACROT and SVIDLER-KAMSKY. The round starts at 14.30 Moscow time. If two players end the tournament with the same number of points, tie-breaking games will be played.

In the penultimate round Korbut def. Sudakova, Soloviova def. Stiazhkina, Kirillova def. Bystryakova, Lupik drew with Molchanova. Sirotkina left the tournament, forfeiting to Gromova (and to Soloviova in the last round). The current standings: Molchanova 5.5, Soloviova 5.5/9, Lupik 5, Gromova and Kirillova 4.5, Korbut 4, Bystryakova 3.5, Sirotkina 3.5/9, Sudakova 3, Stiazhkina 2.
